Wheel Force Transducers

The test mule is a part of the fleet of beta prototypes prepared before the truck gets into production. Most of the prototypes have been spotted around California. The test mule reveals a design update or a new feature in most such sightings. So far, we’ve seen Cybertrucks that have a colossal wiper-blade or a new front end, or even a raised air suspension. That said, it’s only the first time we’ve seen a Cybertruck running on steel wheels. It even carries some measurement devices for chassis testing.

One of the wheels seems to have Wheel Force Transducers  – a multi-axial precision measurement tool that records as many as three forces and moments on the wheel. The instrument plays a vital role during the chassis testing and development of chassis components of vehicles. While recording, the wheel force transducer measures forces on the tire contact patch.
