How Many Tesla Cybertrucks Delivered?
This video stems from The Electric Viking on YouTube. The host came up with an interesting observation. In order to correctly know the exact number of the deliveries of the Cybertruck, it is a great idea to read the VIN details. The electric pickup truck delivered on December 19, 2023, to a buyer, read 448 as a part of the VIN. Therefore, in around 1 month, the American EV giant has already delivered upward of 450 Cybertrucks. This is quite a healthy production rate considering the duration.

The host also mentions that contrary to popular belief, Tesla might ramp up production even further. There are many reports and experts out there suggesting that Tesla might only produce a few hundred Cybertrucks every month to keep the charm of the limited availability. However, Tesla claims that it has received 2 million reservations for the Cybertruck. Sure, there would also be a lot of cancellations. Still, to cope with the demand of even a million units would require it to significantly scale up its manufacturing capabilities. Hence, a rough guess states 50,000 units next year and then around 250,000 units the year after. The process could very well shift to other countries to ramp up the production drastically.

Author’s Note
I am certain that Tesla won’t keep the Cybertruck as a limited edition product. Sure, it won’t boast mass-market numbers akin to its other Tesla siblings. Still, there is enough demand for it to make it quite successful on the sales charts. Therefore, the American EV giant must have a strategy in place to ensure that the reservations are cleared as soon as possible. Also, it needs to take care of the new demand. Therefore, I won’t be surprised to see the production shifting to China or other countries very soon. Let us keep an eye out for further developments in this space.
