In a rather hilarious news report, the Tesla Cybertruck engineer is asking the electric pickup truck owners to quit abusing and torturing it. In all honesty, Tesla asked for this by claiming that the body of the Cybertruck was bulletproof. People were bound to test this claim. A couple of months after the launch, there are dozens of Cybertrucks with dents and deformation marks on its exterior. People have been abusing the electric pickup truck using all sorts of methods. Let us take a look at the details here.

Tesla Cybertruck Engineer Reacts to Tortures on Electric Truck
Tesla Engineer Wes Morrill has urged the owners to halt these experiments. He emphasizes the fact that there are enough cases of physically torturing the $100,000 electric pickup truck. People have committed bizarre activities with the Cybertruck including jumping on it, hitting it with a sledgehammer, burning it, beating it, and of course, shooting it multiple times to test its claims of being “apocalypse-proof”, as Elon Musk calls it. The official claim is that it is capable of withstanding 9 mm and 0.22 calibre bullets. But people have certainly taken things too far.

Tesla offers three versions of the Cybertruck, each equipped with a robust 123 kWh battery pack: Cyberbeast, AWD, and RWD. The Cyberbeast, the most potent among them, utilizes a triple-motor configuration for exceptional performance both on and off-road. With a remarkable total power output of 845 hp and torque of 930 Nm, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds (excluding rollout). In its standard configuration, it can cover up to 320 miles (515 km) on a single charge, extending to an impressive 440 miles (708 km) with the range extender. Moreover, the Cyberbeast can tow payloads of up to 11,000 lbs (4,990 kg) and achieve a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). It’s worth noting that it weighs over 3 tons. The entry-level RWD version is priced at $60,990.

Author’s Note
Regardless of the tall claims by Tesla and Elon Musk about the durability of the Cybertruck, we are of the opinion that we shouldn’t go around shooting the EV just to keep testing its build quality. Sure, it is great that the electric truck is tough and butch. It will most likely perform well during unfortunate incidents. But we don’t need to abuse it. Also, it is designed in a manner that takes care of emergency situations. Generally, people don’t get into such situations every day. Hence, abusing it regularly to disprove its credentials is not the way to go. We hope that we stop witnessing tortured Cybertrucks going forward.
