A shocking report by Lending Tree informs that Tesla drivers in the USA were involved in accidents at a higher rate than any other carmaker last year. This report analysed 30 car brands including the likes of RAM, Tesla, Subaru, BMW and more. The survey rates the car companies based on the most driving incidents per 1,000 drivers. Such reports are conducted frequently, particularly by Insurance Companies so that they could charge premiums according to the statistics. Let us delve deep into the details of this report.

Tesla Drivers in Accidents at Higher Rate Than Others
There were some fascinating findings from this report. In the USA, Ram drivers came out to be involved in incidents the most. To put things into perspective, it scored 32.90 incidents per 1,000 drivers between November 14, 2022, to November 14, 2023. Tesla drivers were reported to have been involved in 31.13 cases per 1,000 drivers. Subaru, VW and Mazda drivers followed with 30.09, 27.92 and 27.74 incidents per 1,000 drivers, respectively. These were the top 5 worst-performing car companies in this survey.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are car marques like Volvo, Mitsubishi and Ford with 22.24, 22.28 and 22.46 incidents per 1,000 drivers, respectively. All these stats also vary based on the different states in the country. Also, these cases include the ones which have been reported. Many incidents can even go under the radar. Hence, we must take the findings of such reports with a pinch of salt. Still, it gives an idea about the behaviours of drivers in particular cars. However, we should not generalize such aspects.
