Tesla Cybertruck Tows Trailer

In this case, a YouTuber uses a Tesla Cybertruck to tow 11,000 lbs (4,990 kg) in freezing cold conditions. Towing heavy loads with EVs sounds awful for the range. However, the electric pickup trucks must be able to do that. That is what pickup trucks are for. The Cybertruck has been making waves in the market with its exquisite specifications and performance. This time around, we are able to witness the dual-motor AWD version of the Cybertruck to this test to see how well it performs with a massive trailer at the back and cold conditions.

How Much Can Tesla Cybertruck Tow In Cold?

This post comes from JerryRigEverything on YouTube. He has the Cybertruck as he clears the snow from its boot cover. He brings a Hummer and loads it up the cargo bed of the electric pickup truck. Later, he goes to weigh in the entire configuration. It comes out to be around 11,000 lbs (4,990 kg). After strongly securing the Hummer on the back and charging the Cybertruck to 100%, he makes his way onto the highway. During the course of his journey, he stays at around 65 mph and tries to remain constant with the speed.

Just for fun, he also conducted a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) acceleration test on the highway with the load. The time comes out to be around 12 seconds. That is quite impressive and almost as fast as the Rivian and Ford Lightning. After driving for some time, he starts assessing the battery health to ensure that he is able to reach the charging station. He gets there with just 2% battery left. Finally, he plugs in the EV after removing the trailer. In total, he was able to cover 90 miles (145 km) with 108 kWh of total energy consumed. The Rivian and Lightning were able to go slightly further.
