Husband Allegedly Threatens Wife Using Tesla Car
As per a news report by Reuters, a case was investigated by the San Francisco police Sergeant David Radford in 2020. The Police received a complaint from a woman saying that despite the restraining orders, her husband used to stalk her using the remote access to the Tesla car. They co-own the car. The woman wrote to Tesla and even met the official in person to explain her situation. However, the American EV giant didn’t act. Therefore, the woman had to complain against Tesla.
In its defence, Tesla stated that since the vehicle is co-owned by the wife and husband, it can’t restrict the man’s access to the remote features. Unfortunately, the man is allegedly stalking the woman, harassing her and threatening her. This is a huge issue since the features which are designed to make the lives of EV owners convenient are being used to cause harm to others. With remote access to car owners, they are able to track locations and other parameters of cars from the comfort of their homes.
