Tesla has introduced the new paint shade with the new Model Y for Europe and the first videos look stunning.

In general, Tesla has been doing everything in its power to stay ahead of the increasing competition in various international markets. As a part of that strategy, it announced numerous price cuts in many markets to attract more buyers and fend off the competition. With this new paint, it is yet another step to grab more eyeballs and attention of potential EV buyers.

Tesla Model Y with Midnight Cherry Red Paint
This video has been shared by Maik on YouTube. It captures the EV being driven around in the parking lot. But the main highlight of the visuals is the attractive Midnight Cherry Red paint. This confirms that this paint has arrived in Europe. Interestingly, the Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red paints are just available on the Tesla Model Y that is manufactured at the Tesla Giga Factory in Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany. That is where Tesla EVs for Europe and the Middle East are produced.

Tesla says that it installed the most advanced paint shop at this facility. In the German market, the Midnight Cheery Red paint costs €3,200 ($3,587) over the regular price of the EV while Quicksilver costs €3,000 ($3,363). The Pearl White Multi-Coat comes as standard across the range while Solid Black and Deep Blue Metallic end up costing €1,220 ($1,345) and €1,600 ($1,793) respectively. The Cherry red goes well with the overall de-chrome exterior. In fact, it gives the look of many dark colours depending on the angle and light.

Specs
As is the case with all Tesla EVs, the company doesn’t reveal all the data on its official website. But it mentions that the Model Y Performance has a dual-motor AWD setup that allows a range of 330 miles and 76 cu ft of cargo space. The electric motors propel the EV from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 secs and the top speed is rated at 155 mph. It supports 250 kW supercharging that is handy for long journeys.
